Decisions Determine Destiny is very well written with excellent topics which are current and relevant. Even the quietest child in the room is engaged and participates with class discussion. I can thoroughly recommend this book from year 7 through to year 11. Decisions Determine Destiny is an essential purchase which should be in every class.

I think the stories were very good and really do affect our children directly. I have no doubt that the teaching, studying and re-enacting of these role-plays would result in the young people at least thinking about situations they have been in and the result their decisions have caused (good or bad). I also believe that upon realization that these things happen and that we adults are not entirely unaware of what our young people are going through, some boys or girls will open up about their experiences, current or past, which in itself is a great step in the right direction and may well lead to unknown prevention's.

You are right about young people facing a lot of challenges in modern societies such as ours. Challenges in the sense of trying to make informed and responsible choices that would have a direct consequence on their future.
We as parents, adults and mentors can only advice them and of course direct them into making wise decisions but really as everything in this life, they have the power to make their own choice and not to adopt the blame culture if mistakes are made, after all we all strive for perfection and learn everyday.
Keep up the good work, I salute the research and effort that has gone into the book.
The book is well written with lots of thought provoking short plays/scenes with which to act out in different sizes of groups. Each one of the set plays or scenes were well set out and at the end the summary and questions to be discussed in the groups helped to bring together all the feelings and actions of all the characters who were involved in each play.
I was very impressed by this book and can fully recommend this book not just to groups and organisations, such as drama companies, and small groups of people, but also to the everyday person, as the books shows good insights into different situations which people go through in today's life which is not always thought about by persons who are not aware of them, in their day to day life
The book decision determines destiny is an amazing teaching guide that can be used in any primary school Keystage 2 and all secondary schools in Britain and other countries. After assessing the book for myself I can say that it deals with and resolve conflict effectively and fairly;helps children to manage strong feelings such as frustration, anger and anxiety;helps students to solve problems with others or by themselves and last but not least it helps children to understand and value the differences between people, respecting the right of others to have beliefs and values different from their own.
As a classroom facilitator /teacher practitioner I would recommend this book because it teaches, empathy, self awareness, social skills and management of feelings.

"A great read! Nice flow, clear and concise. A lot of life issues are explored and stimulates your views for a wide spectrum of discussion. Also there is a real feel and understanding for each character. Very enjoyable as well as a learning tool "

This book should be part of every school’s curriculum, an excellent read and the reader will want to keep reading. Drugs, sex, relationships, anti-social behaviour and other destructive activities are explored and the scenarios are realistic, as well as commonplace situations, which help young people see that choices can sometimes determine the rest of their lives and will enable them to think about their futures positively. Most importantly, young people of today, particularly in dense cities and in suburbia will see that their decisions truly determine their destinies.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's so true that Decisions do Determine Destiny and hopefully this will be issued to all Secondary Schools as well as children's homes and other youth facilities.
